Off the Record has now been running for over 6 years and has marked the Soundhaus as our underground club of choice. Its laid back underground policy and intimate surroundings has proved a major factor in helping push the night over the last few years. In March 2007 Glasgow's trio Animal Farm came aboard to help co promote the night. (read there biog below).

Off the Record may be under the radar, but it should be off the hook for some time to come Mixmag Aug 2006

//Animal Farm Biog

Formed in early 2005, Animal Farm is the brainchild of 3 three friends, Darren Quail, Chris Lamb and Charlie Turtle. Influenced by the early Detroit and Chicago techno movements, the boys have spent the last four years perfecting their sound which has taken them down a dark and hypnotic road of Techno. Being residents at Glasgow’s best alternative venue, the Soundhaus, they have played alongside Radioactive Man, Jojo De Freq, Mark Henning, Simon Baker and Burnski.

From humble beginnings in the Halt Bar playing to friends and guests, they moved to Bar Bloc. After only a few months of their residency, they were asked to become co-promoters at one of the Soundhaus’ top nights ’Off The Record’. This gave them the opportunity to promote their sound to a wider audience and bring some of Europe’s best Djs and live acts to play at their already well known parties. Each member of Animal Farm brings something unique to the mix, whether its Lamb’s dark, twisted and rhythmic beats, the Turtle’s glitch-infused funk or Quails more full-on approach to Techno. All culminate to an audio assault on the senses.
